PLAB 1 Overview
The Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) test is the main route by which international medical graduates demonstrate they have the knowledge and skills to practise medicine in the UK. It is run by the General Medical Council (GMC).
PLAB 1 is a written examination of single best answer questions covering the application of clinical knowledge to the care of patients. It is mapped to the same content areas as the UK Medical Licensing Assessment (UKMLA). Passing PLAB 1 is required before sitting the PLAB 2 practical assessment.PLAB 1 Details
